IDT Biologika has created many innovative products to combat infectious diseases, such as a highly effective vaccine for pig farming that makes the use of antibiotics no longer necessary. In the 1990s, the company introduced the world’s first Salmonella live vaccine for chickens, fostering the creation of a sophisticated immunization program. Thanks to IDT’s rabies vaccine, rabies was eradicated in Germany in 2008, positioning the company as the European market leader in the fight against that infection. Our veterinary vaccines and biologics are also being used by veterinarians worldwide.
To prepare for future needs, IDT Biologika annually invests approximately eight percent of its revenue in the research and development of its own proprietary products to combat infectious diseases. From its headquarters in Dessau, Germany, the company oversees the complex process of animal vaccine development, including research, production, approval and distribution.
